Blog Updates

I'm still not happy with the blog change i think I might go for one of the other templates and then jazz that up at some later stage. Right now I have to write an art history essay on post modernism, so I procastinating by playing on my blog...
Any one got any comments on post modernism and what they think it means or implies? Even if that opinion is, that you don't think it's even relevant.

Could try looking for my old essay heheeheeee. Try comparing a piece from post modernism to nouveau like Dumas to Klimt - it might make it easier. Another hint is look at works in a main gallery and write down what your immediate question is about the work then compare it to an older work.

I see something different happening in postmodernism. A world where the idea of high and low is abolished and a different set of standards apply. Take for example photography once considered low and now can be high art. This is something that 'illustrators' and or comic artists should keep in mind. Matter of fact any craft that has been considered low can now step up to bat. Bring it on.

Agree the seperation between High and Low is less. Meaning arises as an effect of historical context, and historical perspective arises as an effect of meaning. Art locates its authenticity in something outside the artist - institutions, audience, society.
