Lino Cut

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here is my attempt at a fake lino cut. Done by drawing with a white chinagraph (High wax pencil) the type that signwriters use onto a clear plastic with a black paper background. I haven't photocopied this one just scanned it. The image is copied from a photo for an upcoming movie with Charlize Thoron called 'north country'.

Looks great as a digital scan ... think you have a few slipped knife cuts though. Got some band-aides? :)

Yeah, maybe I'd have to draw it a little slower to make it look a little more realistic...The great thing i found with this technique was that you can easily rub off the chinagraph marker if you over did it in certain areas. I would like to try drawing with a black chinagraph, make some prints and erase the drawing from excistance!

There is an IF artist who does chalk on board then erases its existence HERE!

Yes, like and yet unlike, but a good picture whatever. The big plus has to be that you can lay the plastic over a picture and draw, which is impossible with a linocut!
