Ray Johnson

Once again I find myself enthralled with the artist Ray Johnson. I've loaned out a great book on him from the library for the second time (titled simply “Ray Johnson: Coresspondences”). I remember last year when I looked at it it set my work on a whole new direction and confirmed a lot of ideas i was starting to have. I guess i knew it would have a similar effect so i made sure I waited until the right time to give myself a second dose of the book. And sure enough it has invigorated me again and put me back on track.
One of things i like about Johnson is his large output of work, there's not too much preciousness in making the work, the work is perfect in its imperfections.
