Anthony, the cropping and treatment of this image is perfect - the limited, clearly defined palette conveys a mysterious, arcane mood.

Is there any news on the Portfolio project? I know how busy you are, but I was thinking that an extract from my print for that would suit this week's IF them rather well...

Each building seems to have its own architectural style. The first looks a bit like the Parthenon, the middle official, post office maybe, the building on right like an American old west hotel. Fascinating in themselves and wonderful the work you're doing digitally with the image!

That’s Ballarat for you! It has a really interesting mix of old buildings. I’m not really sure about past history of the buildings; although they are on ‘Camp’ st named after the original police camp when the town was founded. The police station was there up to ‘98 I think until the built the new one a few blocks away. The street also had the old law courts and public library (now we use the buildings for uni) and around the corner the old post office (which we also use now too)

These days the first buiding is an antiques store, the next one is a nightclub that never seems to last no matter what cheesy name they give it, the next is a new cafe resturaunt called the pheonix brewery bar (very nice too) and the next building has just opened up as a funky new hairdressing place (but was derelict before that)
