A friend recently sent me a link to a design he had entered on a site called threadless.com, I hadn’t given the site much thought until I went to an honours presentation about t-shirt design and then another friend Leigh showed me his design he was submitting to threadless.com. I went back and checked the site out and it has heaps of cool designs, I really like the idea behind it all.

My friend Jess Fink (www.jessfink.com) has got her tshirts printed up a few times and her Cookie loves Milk shirt has appeared all over the place including an episode of Scrubs because of it. That's where I get some mixed feelings about it.
Every submitter knows what they're getting into but to get that kind of coverage without credit or payment is a bit bogus. Then again, it's threadless providing that coverage anyway. Just thinking out loud.
I have to point out these are my views and not hers.

I saw that cookie loves milk it looked awesome. You do get paid a bit but maybe they should pay less for the first printing, and then give you a choice of royalties for subsequent printings...

I've sent threadless an email about this, so far they haven't responded. I'm starting to agree with you Ive. These web things work best when there's a true democratic spirit to it all the way through
